In January we had just returned from our trip to Germany for the Mid-Winter Rally when we received word of the passing of Maxine Fowler. She had been Harold's step-mother and Enid's mother-in-law since1964. She was a loyal helper of the ministry of Harold's father, Willis Fowler. When he passed away last year, she seemed to lose her sense of usefulness We made a flying trip to the States for her memorial service. We thank the Lord for every remembrance of her.

Every one of our six children were able to be present. This occasion gave us our longed-for opportunity for a full family reunion, the first with everyone in too many years! It was an incredibly joyful occasion as they bantered in Italian and relived their experiences as a family back together once again, even if for the briefest of times. One of the hardest parts of our missionary experience is that we do miss our children.

We have now settled back down to work here at home. Harold is busy summarizing James, 1 & 2 Peter, 1-3 John for the Matelica preachers for the first semester of preaching on these books. They will be leading the congregation around the theme: "Our Faith Faces the World."
